Baker's Bay
Located on the Great Guana Cay in the Abaco Islands, Bahamas, the Ocean Club and Atlantic Golf Club are two of the key amenities for this island resort developed by Discovery Land Company.
Ocean Club
Situated on the Northwest corner of the island with the best beach on the Sea of Abaco, the Ocean Club at 40,000 square feet is comprised of a full range of amenities for this resort community. The club is comprised of two buildings: The Clubhouse, perched along the upper dune for views of both the Atlantic and Sea of Abaco includes the Main Lobby, Concierge, Administration, Club Retail, Spa, Locker Rooms, Entertainment, Kid's Area, Snack Bar, Outdoor Pursuits, and Pool. Across a Great Lawn; the Lounge Bar and Dining stretch along the edge of the Sea of Abaco beach with the Back of House facilities behind.
Our design solutions responded to the Developer's demanding program and to the subtleties of place. The expansive views and natural terrain of this corner of the island were essential in defining the layout to the parts of this club. Tropically elegant, with the scale and presence of a Caribbean Great House, the architecture of the Ocean Club reinterprets regional vernacular to create a sense of special destination, a place of gathering for family and friends. The material palette complements the natural elements and setting. Steep double pitch hipped roofs, colorful cement plaster walls, stone masses and well crafted details convey a sense of tropical substance and luxury. Large glass openings and shaded outdoor terraces create a connection to the sand and water.
Atlantic Club
Straddling the 1st and 18th fairways, with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Atlantic Club at 16,500 square feet includes a Dining Terrace, Pro Shop, Locker Rooms, and below grade Cart Storage. It has been designed in a character inspired by traditional Bahamian architecture using the layered white limestone roofs and cement plaster walls with the scale of a residential compound. There is an understated elegant simplicity in the stark white architecture amidst the verdant sculptural beauty of the Tom Fazio golf course and natural surroundings.
